Initial temperature

To specify the load Initial temperature, use one of the following methods:

Command Line:

FEMAITEMP

Main Menu:

AutoFEM | Loads/Restraints | Initial temperature

Icon:

The load Initial temperature is used for defining initial temperature in transient thermal analysis. This thermal load defines the temperatures of selected elements of the model at time equal to zero.

In the  nodes of finite element mesh which do not belong to the selected elements of the model, the initial temperature will be assigned the "default" value.  The default value is defined in the dialogue window "Study’s parameters" on the tab "Parameters".

Initial temperature can be applied to a model body, a face, edge or vertex.

For selecting elements of the model, use the automenu option:

Loads/Restraints on bodies

Loads/Restraints on faces

Loads/Restraints on edges

Loads/Restraints on vertices

Select all faces

Selected elements are added to the list.

In the properties window of the load Initial temperature, it is required to specify the following parameters:

the magnitude of the load;

units: K, C, F.

In the 3D- scene the Initial temperature is shown in the following way:

A typical sequence of steps for specifying the thermal load is:

1.Initialize the command "Initial temperature" .

2.Select body, face, edge, vertex or a set of elements.

3.Specify the value of temperature and units.

4.Complete the command.
