Group of Sensors

The system allows the user to create a set of sensors at once to facilitate the creation of graphs based on a sequence of sensors.

Sensor is a dedicated object, reflecting the value of the calculated result at a certain point of the model, preset by the user. Group of Sensors is a range of sensors located align a straight line in the 3D model space. The ends of the line might be defined by a pair of vertices or user coordinate systems. All Group of Sensors, created for the given Study, are shown in the AutoFEM palette in the folder “Sensors”.

In each finite element study, it is possible to create several sensor groups. All sensors of the sensor group have uniform colour within the group. On default, each new group gets its own colour to be reflected in the Pre-processor window. The group colour can be changed according to user's wishes. The sensor group may be created at any stage of finite-element modelling. Upon addition of a new sensor group, in order to view values of the sensors, it is sufficient to re-open the Post-processor window (the repeated computation is not required).

The sensors are created within the Preprocessor window of AutoFEM Analysis. To create the sensor, the following sequence of steps is required:

Command Line:

FEMASENSORARRAY

1.In the context menu, downloaded using , select the command “Set a sensor” in the folder Sensors or in the Preprocessor window;

2.Define the position of the sensor line, defining the position of the first and second point between which all sensors will be created.

3.Set the name of the sensor group. This name can embrace an additional comment, including the multi-row comment. To line-feed, use the special symbol "\n";

4.Set the colour of the sensor group.

5.Complete the creation of the sensor by pressing , if you want to continue the sensor creation process, or to finish the command.
Note, that the sensor, which does not contain the result, e.g. does not lie on the model, is marked by the red frame.
