Material is an entity of AutoFEM Analysis associated with solids in the finite element model. A part’s reaction to an external action depends on physical characteristics of the material, which this part is made of. These characteristics are density, elasticity modulus, tensile strength, etc. and are necessary in calculations. Since the 3D AutoCAD model does not contain data on physical properties of the part’s material, prior to calculations, the user must set forth materials for all objects involved in the study. For the purpose, AutoFEM Analysis is equipped with a library of names of structural materials, most frequently used in manufacturing. AutoFEM Analysis supports the use of isotropic and anisotropic materials, which may be orthotropic and transversally isotropic.
Besides of using standard materials, you can create your own material with properties which you need (only in a user's material library).
